I had AT&T installed on the 19th of Nov. i love the service, the limits to the no of streams is a little bad, but the picture quality as far as locals and HD blows my former provider out the door. I really like the on-demand because they offer so much more. I give this service a 10 because for one with this service for updates all they have to do is push a software update for more channels unlike the regular cable companies. If you are thinking about switching do it, I really love the service. i have 3 boxes, the U450 Phone, net and cable package.

Hi

I am so glad to hear that it is a good service, I just had them out and my children were so excited about being able to watch the cartoon network... well we are still waiting they will not install it in our house since nothing in our house is grounded...

They said we need to contact the landlord since there are electrical outlets in each bathroom and right next to the kitchen sink and they are not grounded and that could cause a big problem.

I am a bit upset about all of this since I did take a day off from work to get this installed.

We will see what happens next..

Thanks for your information
Citrus Heights Ca will keep reading your updates!!

Carrie - I thought you'd like that. It idea was to test something that was close to Knoxville and that was the closest I saw on the speedtest site.

Tony - if you don't upload much it may not be worth it for you...since I had the 3Mbps plan I only got 256Kbps up and I would max that out really quickly anytime I uploaded a file a decent size. So far, the increase in download speed hasn't been as useful since there aren't really any sites I use that have enough bandwidth for it to help. Having my Xbox 360 hooked in via hard line as opposed to the wireless makes a huge difference though...everything is much more stable and speedy now.

So, I'm just now reading this. Your last paragraph sums up my thoughts on skiing competely. Once I started going fast it freaked me out because I thought I would not be able to stop at the bottom and the bottom at Ober is picnic table and LOTS of people. UGH. Maybe in Colorado, but no more in Ober for me.

Great goals Adam! I think you should review (or at least mention) the books you read so others can find new material (as if I don't read enough.) Good luck with all of them!

Amen to that. I'm a C++ programmer (for last 4 years) and have used Visual Studio for a long time. The language itself takes a *bit* of getting used to but that doesn't seem like the problem.

The problem is that I have no idea HOW to do anything. What classes are called, how to use the classes. Everything seems like you have to override in hundreds of custom h/m files. It all just seems to be the opposite way to doing things in C++ with Windows libraries.

For example, I'm used to creating a Window type object and then calling functions on that object to add things and manipulate it. Instead it seems its all based on callback type class overriding which just sucks where you have to subclass and override the functions that add data. If I want to use a library, it should have objects which do their own stuff and I call functions to add *my* stuff to it and then it just handles it all.

I should be able to go:

tblView = [[UITableViewController alloc] init];
[window addSubView:[tblView view]];

and then when I want to add things just go:

[tblView addCell:@"Eggs"];
[tvlView addCell:@"Potatoes"];

But instead, theres a bunch of cellAtRowOfIndexPath obscure functions that I have to implement and return cell contents and whatnot. Then theres a function override which you have to return the amount of objects you apparently have in your table.

Ugh, and not too mention that I can't seemingly get far into Apple's iPhone Dev center without the authorisation login from just looping endlessly.

It all assumes you have used XCode, Interface Builder and whatnot from the beginning.

I'm reading your story and actually seeing me there :). I never had a reason to get a Mac, and I made myself to buy one (MacBook, the very basic one). I upgraded from 1GB to 2.5GB (2x 512MB - 1x 512MB stick out + 2GB stick in = 2.5GB) with probably the same memory you did.

I like the way the system works, but I'm only struggling finding a good replacement for Total Commander. I looked through at least three pieces of software, but none were as good as Total Commander itself.

Thanks for sharing, and good luck iPhone programming ;)
